Governors' Statement of Principles
This is a Catholic school which seeks to live out the values of Jesus Christ through our mission of 'Do everything with love'.
We provide a Catholic curriculum, which is broad and balanced and teaches children to seek the deep principles of respect in all areas of learning.
Our behaviour and relationships policy, based on respect, recognises that in every moment - even the less balanced ones, every pupil is unique and is created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). We reflect back to the children the truth that they are inherently good - especially in their moments of difficulty. In this way we model and teach the fundamental truths of freedom, tolerance, respect and equality - the bedrock of a successful society.
Our curriculum is designed to enable every pupil to discern their own true nature, their strengths and, in time, their vocation and to be well-equipped to follow it as active citizens in service to the world. Catholic Religious Education is the “core of the core curriculum” (St John Paul II) and the foundation of the entire educational process.
We provide a wide range of extra-curricular activities and very strong pastoral support. We promote British Values, incorporate democratic principles, value the rule of law, support individual liberty and foster a community in which different faiths and beliefs are respected and every voice is valued.
